Recently we crafted a menu for a host celebrating the publication of his partner’s first book, and they wanted something beyond the ordinary, so Brian Beal Moore Catering was contacted. “Nothing fussy, please. This is a casual, friendly gathering… but we want it to be nice!”
An idea of Global Street Fare was born - all tray passed! This is a wonderful way to entertain. Conversations are not interrupted, and the party’s flow goes unimpeded. A total of thirteen canapés circulated in a timely manner. The guests were delighted that there was not one Slider or a Pigs in a Blanket insight!
The flavors were fantastic, unusual, ranged from mild to almost intense. The Madras Shrimp Salad was subtle, understated, and the tiny crunch of Sunflower Kernels was a perfect addition. But then, the Tapenade, oh my! We kicked it up a few flights of stairs with the addition of Anchovy Fillets. This brought new life to the Grilled Halloumi!
I must say that the Crocchetta di Granchio (Blue Crab Croquettes) were a complete hit - the Limoncello Aïoli was awesome! So much more intriguing than the ever present Cocktail Crab Cake with Rémoulade.! As well, the Smørrebrød, with pear, bleu cheese and crushed toasted walnuts was perfectly delightful. Of course, our Hand Rolled Dark Chocolate Truffles are always the perfect Splurge Worthy that everyone enjoys!
